Tucker, Harrington, Routh and Rieker Genealogy

This is a genealogy for the Tucker, Harrington, Routh and Rieker families who came together in the early 20^th Century in northeastern Ohio. There are over 280 surnames and 900 individuals in this genealogy. They span 10 generations beginning in the mid 17^th Century.

The TUCKER family begins near Westfield, New Jersey, in the early 18^th Century. The Tuckers were among the first pioneers in what is now metropolitan Cincinnati, Ohio. Some of the family moved to Indiana and then to Akron, Ohio. There are 71 Tuckers in this genealogy, spanning 7 generations. One nearly illegible family Bible record implies the Tucker name may have come from TOOKER. Ancestral DNA testing shows the Y-DNA haplogroup for this Tucker bloodline is I-M223.
The HARRINGTON family begins in Pennsylvania in 1791. The Harringtons were early settlers in northeast Ohio and later in southern Michigan. The family includes blacksmiths, mechanics, machinists, carpenters, builders and engineers. The Harrington family married into the Tucker family in 1938. There are 29 Harringtons in this genealogy, spanning 6 generations.
The ROUTH family begins in England in the late 18^th Century. They were among the early settlers along the Wabash River in Indiana. Later generations moved to Ohio and elsewhere. The family has been in the butcher and meat packing business for 4 generations. The Routh family married into the Tucker family in 1908. There are 31 Rouths in this genealogy, spanning 6 generations.
The RIEKER family begins in Germany as RIECKER in the mid 17^th Century. They came to the Society of Separatists of Zoar, a commune that operated during most of the 19th Century in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. The Rieker family married into the Harrington family in 1901. There are 63 Riekers in this genealogy, spanning 9 generations.

Revised some technical details to improve search engine results. (Additional work remains to be done for search engines.)
